We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Underwriter to join our reinsurance team. The role involves provide underwriting and administrative support in the evaluation of treaty and facultative reinsurance submissions by assisting with data collection, risk analysis, documentation preparation, and maintenance of underwriting records. Support senior underwriters in assessing risks, preparing reports and approval documents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely updates within underwriting systems. Maintain awareness of market developments, reinsurance practices, and underwriting standards while contributing to the efficient operation of the underwriting function.
Job Scope
Support the review and initial analysis of treaty and/or facultative reinsurance submissions.
Assist in gathering and organizing underwriting information, including slips, loss history, exposure data, SOVs, pricing information, and supporting documents.
Prepare initial underwriting summaries and internal documentation for review by senior underwriters.
Support the analysis of risk exposures, loss records, deductibles, limits, rates, and key terms and conditions.
Assist in the use of underwriting tools, spreadsheets, pricing templates, and internal systems.
Follow up with brokers, cedants, and internal teams for missing information or clarification, under supervision.
Support senior underwriters in preparing reports, presentations, and approval documentation.
Coordinate with claims, finance, actuarial, operations, and risk management teams when required.
Monitor assigned tasks and ensure timely updates in the underwriting system.
Keep updated on basic market trends, reinsurance structures, and underwriting standards.
Provide general technical and administrative support to the underwriting team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
Professional insurance/reinsurance qualification (e.g., CII, CPCU, ARe) is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of reinsurance products, structures, and underwriting principles.
Experience in reinsurance/insurance underwriting (treaty or facultative).
Experience with pricing models, exposure management tools, and catastrophe modeling is desirable.

Basic knowledge of underwriting systems and data management tools is preferred.
