Mandarin Re Appoints Patrick G. W. Ward to Its Board of Directors

Mandarin Re is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick G. W. Ward, MBA, FCIP, to its Board of Directors.

Patrick brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, he concluded his tenure as Group President and CEO of Bahamas First Insurance Group, where he played a central role in the organisation’s growth, strategic development and transformation. His expertise spans corporate governance, risk and financial management, business strategy, innovation and talent development. 

During his career, Patrick led a number of significant initiatives, including the expansion of Bahamas First Insurance Group into the Cayman Islands, the adoption of new technology platforms, the development of the group’s innovation capabilities and its full listing on the Bahamas International Securities Exchange. 

Patrick also brings extensive board-level and industry leadership experience. He currently serves his second term as Chairman and President of the Insurance Association of the Caribbean and is a Non-Executive Director of Summit Insurance Company Ltd. His previous appointments include Chairman of the National Insurance Board and Chairman of The Bahamas Mortgage Corporation, as well as advisory roles on insurance and economic matters. 

Patrick’s appointment further strengthens Mandarin Re’s Board and reflects the company’s continued commitment to sound corporate governance, international expertise and sustainable growth. His strategic perspective and deep understanding of the insurance market will support Mandarin Re as it continues to expand its global relationships and deliver long-term value to clients and partners worldwide.
