Mandarin Re Joins Global Insurance Leaders at GAIF3
EventAs the insurance industry adapts to emerging risks, technological shifts, and evolving market demands, the fundamentals of effective risk management remain unchanged: understand the risk, price it accurately, and provide meaningful protection.
These core principles took center stage at the 35th General Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF35), held at the Dead Sea, Jordan, from October 5–7, 2026. Bringing together over 2,000 leaders from 48 countries, the event provided a premier forum to address key developments shaping the global insurance and reinsurance landscape.
Representing Mandarin Re, Fernando Vega Durling, Alexander Shakhmatov, and Nada Afif El Ariss engaged with insurers, reinsurers, and brokers to exchange perspectives on evolving risk exposures and explore strategic partnerships. Key sessions focused on digital transformation, AI applications in actuarial work, and innovative risk-transfer mechanisms—trends that are fundamentally redefining how the industry assesses exposures and manages uncertainty. For reinsurers, staying ahead of these shifts is vital to supporting clients with tailored capacity that reflects their specific risk profiles.
GAIF35 also provided a valuable setting for our team to deepen existing relationships, establish new connections, and align with regional market priorities.
This year’s theme, Back to Principles, served as a timely reminder that technological progress must remain grounded in disciplined underwriting, sound risk assessment, and fair pricing. These fundamentals continue to anchor insurer-reinsurer relationships, driving long-term stability and confidence across the market.
We look forward to building on these constructive discussions and expanding our partnerships across the global reinsurance community.
